Announcement

I’m excited to announce that I have successfully completed my Meditation Teacher Training Level 1 course.

For those who regularly attend my classes, this addition won’t come as much of a surprise... as a mind-body practice, Pilates draws on some of the techniques we use in meditation + this aspect is infused in my teaching style already. Still! I’m always looking to learn more + build my skill set so I can better support students in moving, feeling + living well.

In my opinion - + experience! - taking care of the space in your head in as important as giving your bod regular maintenance. In the West, we’re not really given much of a toolkit to navigate our inner world + it’s only in recent years that meditation is gaining greater interest + popularity more broadly. Research continues to emerge about the powerful therapeutic effects of meditation +, as time goes on, I feel that this will be a real area of growth in the community, the corporate world... in society in general. The common preconceptions (misconceptions?) about meditation as something a bit woo-woo will dissolve, as the practice becomes more open + accessible.

I think it’s super important for a meditation facilitator to be qualified in what they do - + to be able to guide others skilfully + knowledgeably - hence why I felt it essential to get some training in the area myself. I still have some modules to complete to achieve my goal but I’m delighted to be on my way.
